DroneWard One: Live Drone Detection Demo at Future Forces 2026
11.10.2026
DSP Technologies is a European start-up and at Future Forces 2026 we will show DroneWard One, a passive drone detector that reads DJI DroneID (up to OcuSync 4+) and Remote ID. DroneWard one is an alternative to DJI Aeroscope.
We will be running a live demo in Hall 5, Stand 561, with a real DJI drone and our detector. Come and visit us! You will be able to play with both and see for yourself what the detector picks up and how it works!
DroneWard One
DroneWard One reads both DJI DroneID and Remote ID. Both carry the drone's serial number, its position, and the position of the pilot or take-off point. Reading DroneID gives you two advantages. First, in the EU drones under 250 g do not have to broadcast Remote ID, but DJI drones of that size still broadcast DroneID, so you see them too. Second, Remote ID can be faked with a cheap Wi-Fi board, while DroneID is extremely difficult to spoof.
Encrypted DroneID is optionally being processed on-device, up to OcuSync 4+.
It's fully passive - does not transmit anything - fully air-gapped unless opted-out, and has no recurring subscription. Because it only receives, you don't need a special permit to operate it.
It is about 120 × 95 × 75 mm. It comes with an omnidirectional antenna for 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, which gives a range of about 5-8 km. The antenna connects over SMA, so you can swap it for a directional one and get about 20–30 km of range (depending on terrain and RF interference).

You can carry it in the field, use it in a car on the car's screen through Android Auto (support planned), or install it in a fixed place (e.g.: on the roof). You work with it through its local web interface, or connect it to your own system over MQTT, webhooks or WebSockets.
About us
Our team members used to work on modifying DJI drones, including making them anonymous and building a "public sector" firmware. That is how we came to know DroneID in detail, and why we are able to work with it. We are finishing development now and plan to start production in late 2026, therefore first units should be available at the beginning of 2027.
Roadmap
These are things we would like to build, as separate products or as add-ons for DroneWard One. It is a roadmap and it may change in the future:
- a version of DroneWard One with four directional antennas for about 20-30 km in every direction
- FPV drone detection and full RF spectrum analysis
- DJI video and telemetry decryption without relying on DroneID or Remote ID, for authorised gov. organisations only
- DJI drone take-over without jamming, for authorised gov. organisations only
None of this changes DroneWard One, which stays fully passive and detection-only.
See the live demo in Hall 5, Stand 561, 21 to 23 October at PVA EXPO PRAGUE.
